I still get asked for “a yearly pap” but that hasn’t been a thing for over a decade! paps for cervical cancer screening are recommended every 3 yrs from age 21-30 then every 5 years if done with cotesting for the hpv virus. actually, we should call it cervical PREcancer screening. of course there’s always a few exceptions like people with severe immunocompromise from HIV or medications to prevent rejection of transplanted organs Shocked or you already knew? #gynecology #momdoc #gynecologist #pap
