What's up for March? First up, the Sun, Earth, and Moon will align exactly on March 3 in a total lunar eclipse that will make the Moon appear bright red. Then, on March 8, Venus and Saturn will appear close together in the night sky. Last but not least, March 20 brings the vernal equinox. That day marks the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere and the first day of autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Look out later this month for a (partial) lunar eclipse! On the night of November 18-19, the Moon will slip into the Earth's shadow for a couple of hours, easily visible for skywatchers from eastern Asia to the United Kingdom—including all of North and South America. The eclipse will begin shortly after 2 a.m. EST (7:00 UTC), reaching its maximum about two hours later. That's not the only night sky sight to watch out for in November, though; we'll also see the return of the Northern Hemisphere's
